Still cloudy but is it getting warmer. Today we listened to Morton Dean talking about what kind of qualities it takes to be a news correspondent who goes to all the places of war and conflict. He told several very funny stories both on himself and on incidents that happen when you are working in those kind of conditions.
Tonight we had reservations for the Dinner and a Show in Signatures. The meal was the very best we have ever had in Signatures. Everything single thing they served was excellent. They had canapés of small crab cakes, toast points with chicken with a chutney sauce, home made tortilla chips with a nice salsa. Some of the other courses were a ripe tomato stuffed with cheese and topped with a fresh pesto and roasted…it was yummy, a small portion of crab on a rich cream sauce topped with caviar, and the final course BEFORE the main course was a lobster tail that was the best lobster tail ever. It was poached just perfectly and served over a small portion of roasted potatoes. It was big enough to have been the main course.
We had the choice of Black Cod or Beef Tenderloin for the main course. Fred had the fish and Jan had the beef. They were both excellent. Desert was a chocolate tart-like pastry that was very, very good. Jim and Pepper joined us so we had a very good dinner with very good food and very good friends!
The shop afterwards in the Horizon Lounge was Gloria Loring. She is a singer/actress and even appeared for a while on one of the long running soap operas, Days of Our Lives. She was very good and we sat right down front so Fred could hear her. The Horizon Lounge was the perfect setting for her and everyone there enjoyed the show.
